Robert’s experience:

• Has Toured Japan, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Germany, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and many states across the USA, with tours of England and Belgium booked for 2020.

• He enjoys playing for diverse audiences, ranging from the general public to international dignitaries.

• He teaches violin and viola students at all levels of skill, from beginners to seasoned musicians

Robert  has extensive experience as a teacher of violin and viola as well as a conductor and composer.  His education includes study in violin performance and Jazz under some of the masters of the instrument including Paul Schmidt, Prof. David Margetts, Janice Radford, Dr. John Koshak, Dr. William Hall, and Dr. Thomas Hall.   He has performed in  symphony orchestras, chamber orchestras, quintets, quartets, trios, duets, rock bands, fusion bands, world beat ensembles, klezmer bands, solo performances and is a founding member of the San Diego String Quartet.

He was affiliated with the New Expressions School of Music in San Diego from 2004 until September 2014, when he moved to his new studio on Vandever Avenue. He has been giving private instruction since 1979. He specializes in all levels of violin and viola instruction for string players as young as age four to build a strong foundation in technique, expression and music theory. He has prepared students to audition successfully for ensembles such as San Diego and East County Youth Symphonies,  as well as adult orchestras and for acceptance into national music schools and conservatories.

He has been playing the  violin, viola and mandolin in the  award-winning world beat fusion band, Middle Earth Ensemble since 1998.  Middle Earth Ensemble is well-known for playing for world renown belly dancers and has toured all over California and Hawaii.

He has also been a member of the San Diego String Quartet  since 2008 and has played many local venues and events since joining them.  He is a dedicated musician who shares his musical knowledge and passion for performance with students and audiences alike.
